to hear adolescents taking on the goth persona, and speaking of death and dying, not out of depression, but for the sheer culture and the now mainstream light on it, is sickening. the macabre is something I tie dearly to modernity, existentialism, the loss of transcendental certitude, and to have the inexperienced embrace it when they can’t even understand, or greater yet, pronounce these words sickens me.
